I am an experienced IT business analyst, solution designer and end-to-end software product manager with a track record of successful design and delivery with a range of high-profile customers. Taking a leading role in all stages of the product development lifecycle I have applied my creative problem solving, development experience and UX-led approach to work effectively alongside clients, end-users, senior managers and members of design, development and QA teams.

What I do

Working as part of a small, but active, product development team my role is all-encompassing - extending the reach of the traditional product manager into business analysis and even front-end development.

Requirements Analysis

Working directly with end users I build practical, requirements-led user stories and user personas.

I document, illustrate and articulate requirements to be easily understood by non-technical stakeholders securing round-table buy-in and agreement.

Software Specification

Continuing to work with all stakeholders I craft detailed, yet digestible, specification documents to fuel development and early-adopter marketing.

I work across the SDLC merging Agile & Waterfall approaches to deliver high-quality software deliverables.

UX, Design & Front-end

With a clear understanding of established user personas, user requirements and proposed user flows, as well as a passion for intuitive user experience design, I get hands-on with the build & front-end development, ensuring quality of our market-leading web and mobile applications.

Myprogress is a web and native-mobile software product that facilitates assessment and communication as part of off-campus, workplace-based education.

For the last 5 years, I have managed the growth and development of the Myprogress product, taking it from a small, project-based development to a market-leading product in use across more than 20 prestigious universities and organisations.

Acting as an interface between sales and development, I work closely with all stakeholders to understand the problems that need solving before designing solutions that deliver visually, technically and intuitively.

Working throughout the development lifecycle I am hands-on and active, taking a leading role in:

  • Client engagement & end-user requirements gathering
  • Roadmap prioritisation based on internal & external analysis
  • Solution design & specification documentation
  • Workflow design & UX design leadership
  • Coordination of development based on both waterfall & agile methodologies
  • Management of development budgets, delivery timelines & overall quality
  • Hands-on involvement in development, especially with user experience components
  • Product support & end-user documentation

Staying creative is really important to me and I regularly break out the pencils and paper to explore new and interesting creative avenues.

Whether it's the crisp modern style of Hydro74, the quirky illustrations of ThisNorthernBoy or classic Japanese printing I like to explore the things that inspire me.
